Gina Staton is a full-time songwriter from Alabama who has been inspired by music since she was a little girl. Her fondest memories was listening to B.J Thomas singing Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head and singing at the top of her octave range to Earth Wind And Fires, September.
Gina won a music and performing arts scholarship and majored in Music and Elementary Education. She received a degree in Early Childhood Development and Elementary Education from the University of South Alabama.
Gina went on to teach and mentor little people for 20 years. She was voted by all of her students as, “By far hands down their favorite teacher to ever have.” Then they were promptly given all A’s for their unsolicited honest opinions and feed back.
When asked what her favorite thing about teaching young people was, she responded
with,” To see the growth in not only their academic ability, but to see the growth in their confidence and ability to laugh at whatever comes into their life path.” She always encouraged her students and children to never take themselves to serious and they would live very happy lives.
Gina is now using that same confidence and light- hearted humor with her songwriting.
